A new Folk and Acoustic Music Club is starting up in the village in December. First meeting December 7th starting at 8.45pm.
It will be based in The Cross Keys Inn and take place initially on a monthly basis, meeting on the first Sunday of every month.
We will alternate guest nights with "residents'" nights. On residents nights you can come along and either just listen, or bring your guitar/fiddle/pipes/voice and sing or play. It doesn't matter how (in)experienced you are, everyone will be made welcome.
On guest nights we will have someone who will provide us with the evening's entertainment. On the first Sunday (December 7th) we are pleased to be able to present David Kilpatrick. He will be coming all the way from Scotland to sing and play his songs for us. David has been involved with folk music for nearly 40 years.
The success of any such folk/acoustic club depends on enough people coming along regularly and being prepared to sing. If you are interested and wish to find out more, contact me, Chris, on 02920515712 or at dinaspowyisfolkclub@philharmonic.me.uk
The first residents' night will be on Sunday January 4th.
I look forward to seeing you all there at the first meeting.
There will be no charge on the door at the first meeting, but there will be a hat passed around. Please support the club. This will help pay for the guests we have invited over the next year. These include:
- Beck Sian (February)
- Anne Lister (March)
- Paul O'Brien (November)
- Blanch Owen & Mike Gulston (June)
- Davy Cartwright (September)
