Y or an I ???? 

Please could someone let me know what the correct spelling is.. is it DINAS POWIS or DINAS POWYS. I think that one is more Welsh and the other is more English, however which is which I do not know, maybe please someone local could enlighten me as to which spelling the local folks prefer. Thank you  Welshmans Daughter in New Zealand

The Welsh form is spelled with a 'Y'. the anglicised withan 'I'.  The Cardiff area A-Z uses the Welsh spelling.  Can't remember what's on the boards at the entrance to the place.

To The Bowdler Family. Many "Thank You's" for the information regarding the Y and I in Dinas Powys (Powis) I appreciate it and look fwd to seeing the name in print when I visit my Da's birthplace in the not to distant future. Thank you again Welshmans Daughter.
